The Eleanor Roosevelt Leadership Center at Val-Kill honored their annual medalists at a ceremony in Hyde Park, New York. Among this year’s six honorees was William vanden Heuvel DS’46. The Eleanor Roosevelt Val-Kill Medal recognizes individuals who “make a significant contribution to society in the arts, education, citizenship, philanthropy, community services and other humanitarian concerns that reflect Mrs. Roosevelt’s ideals.” Ambassador vanden Heuvel is the founder and chairman emeritus of the Four Freedoms Park Conservancy, and former U.S. ambassador to the European Office of the United Nations.
